Shale Volume

On either side of the red discriminator line in the Zonation Model track, a blue line and a green line indicate the minimum and the maximum cutoff data values, which JewelSuite Geomechanics uses to determine 0% and 100% shale volume, respectively. These bounds are determined independently within the different zones of the well and can be modified according to user preferences.

  1. On the form, click the (Re)Calculate button to calculate the values and create a Shale Volume log.
To change the default name of the created log, double click in the log field. The background turns blue, indicating you can edit the text. When done, click the green check mark to apply the changes.
  1. Click Show to open a dedicated Zonation Model in the Well View.
